Informative Essay Topic

I am planning to do my essay on global warming, but I'm not sure how to focus it! Any advice?

I was thinking either:

1) The consequences of global warming (i.e. environmental, health issues)

Orrr

2) The causes of global warming itself (i.e. green house gas emissions)

I was leaning towards the first, but would it still count as an informative topic if it hasn't fully happened yet? I know that there is evidence to support it, but I wasn't sure if it would be a bad topic because it could be debatable/some people don't believe in it.

I am glad you're thinking of one or the other. That is focused. Looking at some particular aspect of one of those - for example, the economic consequences (positive or negative) of global warming/climate change would be the subject for a strong a paper if you are able to get and stay that focused. You will have to work with the information you can find and the time you put into the research.
