Thesis= Topic Sentence (General) *intro*+ Controlling Idea (specific)*conclusion*
Introduction [your thesis is developed through the body into a controlling idea; a repeated thesis but in different language, words and explanation]
Conclusion [ includes the controlling idea *thesis* that is more detailed]
Specific- speaks more to what you think about at the end
• You can’t pre-think about the intro and conclusion until you have your body, usually the intro and conclusion is where the weakest parts are in terms of writing.* usually*
General- very basic knowledge that will be developed throught the paper
Introduction-Do not need to contain material
If you want to put in context, statistics, anecdotes have it in the intro to “grab” the reader.
EXAM- tip- well you should have been in class.
Just joking- It will be based on stuff we have read in class.
